ADULT PROGRAM
Achieve Your Boxing Goals with Intense Training and Support.
Central City Boxing & Barbell offers several options to its adult members.
​
Each new member will attend our Strength & Conditioning Program on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between the hours of 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM which is conducted by our trained and certified Springfield College Interns. This program is geared for the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced individual with a focus on static and dynamic stretching followed by circuit-type training with an emphasis on strength & conditioning.
If a member is interested in Boxing, they must attend the Boxing Clinic which is conducted one Saturday a month and takes approximately 3 hours. This clinic will begin with a Power Point presentation explaining the sport of boxing which includes rules, regulations, scoring, and equipment. Each student is then provided a set of hand wraps and instructed on how to wrap their hands. Each student is then placed in boxing gloves and placed in front of a heavy bag where they are instructed on basic punches one by one applying a crawl phase, walk phase and run phase meaning slow, medium and fast. Once basic combinations are achieved, each student is brought into a boxing ring where they will apply these basic combinations with the instructor who will use punch mitts having the student move around the ring in their boxing stance while applying basic combinations.

When this clinic is completed, the member will have the option of entering into the Adult Boxing Program.

Central City Boxing & Barbell continues to offer a Female Boxing Program for females only, who may be interested in a less intimidating atmosphere while working at their own pace with other women while encouraging each other to reach new goals. This Female Boxing Program is conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays allowing for a 5-day program in conjunction with the Strength & Conditioning Program conducted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Adult Boxing Program

The Adult Boxing Program at Central City Boxing is a structured program geared for the individual who wishes to pursue the sport of boxing. Although not every member competes, they are trained as if they are going to compete. This program is conducted Monday through Friday and includes all levels from beginners to professionals. Our experienced trainers will guide you through intense training sessions that are designed to build strength, endurance, and technique.

Central City Boxing & Barbell is a USA Boxing sanctioned facility and conducts itself under the rules and regulations of USA Boxing.
